Kayla recently spent time with another foster fanily and here is what they shared: "Kayla is the perfect companion. She has the calmest, most loving demeanor, and if you sit anywhere near her there is a 95% chance she will gently crawl into your lap for cuddles. We have been fostering her for the past few days, and she has been the easiest addition to our home.
She is happiest just being near her people, whether that is lounging on a dog bed, curled up on the carpet, or fully committed to your lap. Even with how affectionate she is, she is not overly velcro. If you get up to cook, shower, or move around the house, she may follow you curiously at first, then simply settle back down and relax until you return. It is the perfect balance of loving companionship without interrupting daily life.
Kayla is potty trained, has no teething or nipping behaviors, and is very easy to leash up. She walks beautifully on a loose leash most of the time and genuinely enjoys getting outside for walks and yard time. Although she is super speedy and loves to run around in the yard, she is three years old and past the puppy stages. She is also very smart and already knows commands like sit, give paw and lay down. We also have not needed to crate her while fostering, and she has done great free in the home. That said, another family who fostered her has indicated she is crate trained as well!
Kayla does have dog reactivity and would do best as the only pet in the home. In the yard, she may bark at strangers at first, but once introduced she is incredibly gentle and sweet. Just make sure they are okay with her trying to politely climb into their lap for attention.
I truly cannot emphasize enough how special she is. Kayla has so much love to give and would be such an easy, seamless addition to a home. While many adoptions require big adjustments and training, she is already there. She has been overlooked for months, but the right person is going to realize very quickly just how perfect she is!"
