Hello, My name is Turner. I am a 1 year-old border collie mix. I cam in with my brother Hooch from a puppy-mill farm. I am very nervous and shy but warm up to you after a little while. I LOVE other dogs, they help me come out of my shell. So another dog is a must. I could live with a cat however I would have to be monitored the more comfortable I get as I might want to herd smaller animals. I would do best with older children as I am very nervous and little ones would make me more nervous. I am working on walking on a leash right now. I am getting better but still working on it. If I sound like the perfect match for you, ask to meet me today!

Here is what Turner aka Troopers foster parents have to say!:
Trooper/Turner is doing great!

Trooper/Turner is potty trained at our house, but he has not yet shown us that he knows how to ask to go out on his own. He follows our routine and that of our other dogs and that seems to work for him.
He got pretty upset in a kennel so we shut him in a room when we all leave the house. He has not destroyed anything in that room. He has only destroyed dog toys so far.

Trooper no longer spends most of his time under our bed. He likes to be wherever we are. He still gets nervous about leaving the house but is ok with it. Trooper/Turner still has anxiety with new people. He is ok with my parents. If people come to our house, he will hide under our bed or hide behind us. He is getting braver about being out around new people if he is right next to us.
With 3 dogs, he hasn't had individual training on a leash yet. However, he hasn't barked at other people or dogs on a walk. He doesn't pull ahead very hard either. If anything, he walks so close you have to be careful he doesn't trip you.
Trooper/Turner knows sit, come (by calling his name), and is working on "off", "shake" and "down".
Trooper leaves our cat alone - but she isn't the most social cat and really stays off on her own. Trooper is good with our kids but does hide from new kids just as he does new people.
