Introducing Umba,
A girl who knows what she wants, when she wants. The hard part is, she can't hear us telling her to "Let's go"- she's deaf! Although she might bark and huff at first, show a tennis ball to her and she'll be your new BFF! She LOVES to go for walks and play ball, enjoys snacking, and enjoys throwing herself into your legs for booty scratches! Even though Umba is deaf, she's an extremely intelligent dog. She has learned handle signals (And KVHS is more than happy to teach you them!) but she is stubborn; if she doesn't want to listen, she knows she can look away from us. It was funny the first time, Umba.
As for other animals; Umba has a prey drive and would rather not live with cats. For dogs, she can be very dog selective and may take a few meetings to warm up to the other dog. She prefers being the dominant one! Kid's aren't everyones cup of tea, but Umba has handled older children with grace. Due to being deaf, and nervous of new people, she is looking for a home with older children who understand giving dogs space!
