DJ isn't the kind of guy who hands out his friendship to just anyone-but once you earn his trust, you'll discover an incredibly smart dog who loves to learn and loves to train! He's very food-motivated, which makes teaching him new things that much easier.
DJ would do best in a low-traffic household with a family willing to give him the extra time, patience, and effort he needs to feel comfortable and safe. He may take some time to warm up to new people, but once he decides you're one of his people, you'll have a very special companion.
DJ is selective about his canine friends, too. He has met other dogs, but he prefers to choose his own circle, so a meet and greet would be important.
He also walks nicely on leash and has a very important fun fact: DJ LOVES THE POOL!
If you're the kind of family who understands that some dogs need a little extra time to trust, DJ may be the perfect guy for you. Give him the time and effort he deserves, and you may just become one of his favorite people.
DJ is a special boy who needs a little extra time and support when meeting new people. To help set him up for success, we ask that interested adopters schedule an appointment to meet him.
This gives us a chance to introduce you properly and share what makes DJ so special.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open every day from noon to 6pm (excluding limited holidays/events). You can meet our adoptable animals any time during our operating hours! No appointment needed!
In addition to our main shelter at 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX 78626, you can also meet adoptable dogs at our satellite location, the Red Poppy Adoptique, located at 110 W L Walden Dr, Georgetown, TX 78626.

Looking for a fun way to make a difference? Try our Doggy Day Out program! Take one of our pups on an adventure for a few hours-giving them a much-needed break from the shelter while you enjoy some quality time. The program runs at both locations daily starting at noon.
We always welcome your dogs to come and meet our dogs, too! We'll see you soon at either location!
