Meet Douglas!
It takes an extraordinary spirit to survive unimaginable circumstances, and Douglas is one of those extraordinary souls.
Douglas came to Stafford back in October of 2025 as just a puppy, and when he arrived at the shelter he was completely shutdown. Through patience, love, and consistency, he's starting to learn the world and people aren't so scary.
Douglas enjoys taking treats from staff and enjoys spending time in playgroups with his best friend, Willow. While he's made wonderful progress, he still has a long journey ahead. Douglas isn't comfortable with human touch or wearing a collar just yet, so he'll need a patient, understanding family willing to let him move at his own pace.
Douglas truly thrives with canine companionship and will require a home with another confident dog to help him continue building his confidence.
His journey isn't over yet- if you think you could be Douglas's forever family, please call the shelter at (406) 222-2111 to schedule an appointment to meet him.
