Henry is a wonderful companion. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands, including sit, stay, lay down, paw, and kennel up. He even lets you clip his nails! He loves to play with toys, go on walks, and cuddle on the couch. He enjoys the company of calm dogs, though he may need to be separated during feeding and treat time. He is working on drop it/leave it commands, and his future family should continue this training. He does not like having food or stolen items taken out of his mouth, but he will trade you for a treat. The foster home has stated they have made lots of progress on his reactivity training. Overall, he is a happy and healthy boy who would thrive with the right family. Henry is fawn with a black mask, neutered, and 5 years old as of July 10, 2025.
Henry could be ready to go to his forever home if they do not have small children and are willing to continue his training on drop it/leave it. His future family should understand that you can't take things out of his mouth, even if it's a stolen item, but you can trade him for a treat. He also does not enjoy puppies, but gets along well with older dogs. If you would like to meet Henry, please complete your adoption application and let us know you are interested in Henry.
