Willy is a smart, affectionate, and loyal boy... once he knows and trusts you. Unfortunately, trust doesn't come easily to Willy. He has significant behavioral issues and reacts to unfamiliar people with barking and growling. His world is small, and he feels safest with the few he's bonded to.
But here's the thing-with his person, Willy becomes a total sweetheart. He knows basic commands like sit and lay down, he'll let you pick him up, and he melts right into your lap. He needs time, structure, and someone who understands that trust is earned, not given.
Our shelter environment is not helping him. Willy needs a rescue organization experienced in behavior cases-someone who can commit to helping him thrive. He will likely need professional behavior modification and/or lifelong management. But in the right hands, Willy has the potential to be a devoted, loving companion.
