Meet Kitty Lauper, or Kitty!
Kitty was brought to us as a stray by one of our ACOs. When she first arrived at the shelter, her skin was in horrible condition and she was missing most of her fur. After a few treatments and trial medications, our medical team has landed on something that is finally starting to help Kitty feel better! She will most likely need to stay on this medication for her entire life and will need regular veterinary check-ups. However, she is a gem for taking her medication and it can even be given in wet food! The average monthly cost of this medication is around $100/month depending on your veterinarian. But Kitty is so worth it!
While Kitty Lauper has been with us going through her treatments, we've learned a lot about her! She was previously an outdoor kitty and would most likely enjoy catio time or some supervised time outside. Kitty has been working on her harness and leash training and really enjoys going for walks! Unfortunately, other cats are not her jam, and she'll need to be your only feline houseguest. But Kitty LOVES to play-- feather wands, bird toys, anything that moves-- and she has so much energy that you might not even notice you only have one cat. She also gets along well with dogs and has been nose-to-nose with a few from her hallway mansion. Slow introductions are always recommended, but she should likely do great with dog friends!
