Sonny is a young, medium-sized mixed breed with classic heeler puppy energy and a whole lot of personality. At just 8 months old, Sonny is still learning about the world and would thrive with an experienced adopter who can guide him through his puppy stages.
Sonny is a playful, wiggly boy who loves toys and staying active. He shows strong herding breed traits, including being mouthy and a bit nippy during play, especially when he gets excited. He may also grab and bite at the leash and can pull when something catches his interest, as he's very eager to meet them. His play style includes body slamming and energetic interactions, so any resident dog would need to be tolerant and able to appropriately correct him without escalating.
While Sonny doesn't know any commands yet, he takes treats gently and shows potential to learn with consistent training and structure. He walks well on leash overall for his age but will need continued guidance to improve his manners.
It was reported that Sonny has been around children ages 3-16, as well as dogs and a cat, and has done well in those settings. He is crate trained, has not been destructive in the home, and is still working on his potty training.
This smart, active pup will do best in a home ready to provide training, structure, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment. With the right guidance, Sonny has all the makings of a fun and loyal companion.
