Meet Lala! Lala came to us as an owner surrender in early January of 2026. She had lived in her previous home for about three months; before that, they believe she had lived outside for her entire eight-year life.
Expectedly Lala had trouble acclimating to shelter life. Being a senior, we felt that it would not be fair to release her back outside, so we spent a lot of time, love, and patience working with her. We've learned that she can sometimes have a low threshold for getting overstimulated, and when she does get overstimulated, she may swat at your hand or retreat to her safe spaces. Due to her tendency to be easily overwhelmed, Lala prefers a home with no young children. She does get along well with other chill felines but should be kept separate from any resident animals during her period of decompression.
Lala can also be a very sweet girl. She loves to butt her head against your hand and ask for pets. Catnip and soft treats are great ways to win her over. If she ever can't be found, she's probably in one of her comfy cave beds taking a nap. She may not approach you for attention very often, but when she does, it'll feel like you won the lottery. If you have room in your calm home to give this senior girl a second chance, come to the shelter and ask to meet Lala!
