Penelope came into AHFS as a pregnant mom with a punctured eye in April 2025. She went into foster care, where she gave birth to four healthy kittens. Once the kittens were ready for adoption, Penelope underwent surgery for her spay and enucleation. Penelope continued in foster care as she recovered from surgery and was later diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Her foster mom worked with the veterinary team at AFHS to find a medication regimen that works for her which includes a daily pill that can be given in her food. Penelope is now looking for a permanent home! Penelope would prefer a home where she is the only cat or has a mellow feline companion. At her foster home, Penelope has enjoyed taking naps on the screened in porch and hiding in a cave-style cat bed.
