Meet Magical Mayhem, a sweet, snuggly angel whose favorite place is curled up in a loving lap! At 1 year old and 19 pounds, this little girl needs to gain some healthy weight and is looking for a home where she can blossom. Magical Mayhem is still building her confidence and currently relies on being carried as she navigates unfamiliar surroundings. A patient adopter who lets her move at her own pace can help her feel secure and celebrate each little step forward.

Affectionately called May, this sweet girl is spending time in a foster home, where she's showing off her love of laps, snuggles, and all things squeaky. She proudly carries her stuffed toys like prizes, loves squeaky balls-the louder, the better!-and enjoys chewing on Benebones. She's also learning her name! For May, snuggle time could happily last all day, every day. Cheek scratches and chin scratches are favorites, and she'll gladly roll over for a lovely tummy rub, too.

May happily trots along on short outings, taking time for all the sniffs. Her walking distance is limited for now due to her weight, but she's eager to explore and greet the neighbors. So far, she hasn't met a stranger: snuggles from anyone are welcome! She has already charmed her foster's nephew and three female neighbors, happily welcoming each new friendship. Her foster describes her as a gentle walker who walks on a loose leash. As she grows stronger, she's now walking on her own both indoors and outside, though she still needs to be carried up the stairs due to her weakness.

City life seems to suit this easygoing girl. Street cleaners, sirens, and kids running past the window haven't fazed her. She also glanced curiously at a cat through a window before continuing on her way. She hasn't met her foster's resident dogs directly yet, but she has explored their empty crates and shown little interest when seeing them crated. We're still learning about her comfort with other animals.

May is beginning her housetraining journey and will need a patient family to help her build a routine. She has kept her crate clean so far, settles nicely after a few brief protests, and has slept quietly through the night. Her foster also reports that she's quiet when left alone after a little initial complaining. She currently cannot have treats, so her future family will need to follow her care team's guidance when choosing rewards for her training.

Looking for a snuggly companion who proudly parades her favorite toys? May is ready to find a family who will cheer her on as she continues to blossom!

For now, she's happiest melting into her human friends for comfort and cuddles. Magical Mayhem is currently in the comfort of a foster home. If you're interested in meeting her, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps!
