Treats and a patient friend help her feel more comfortable, and she'll stay close by, seeking reassurance as she takes everything in. She's learning that the world feels a little less scary with someone kind by her side.
During one shelter outing, Tabitha was easily leashed but felt overwhelmed once outside and needed a helping hand getting to the yard. With time to settle, she explored, sniffed, and accepted gentle pets. When it was time to head back, she made the walk to her kennel on her own-a small but meaningful moment of growing confidence!
On a recent overnight stay, Tabitha gave her volunteer friend a glimpse of the lovely companion she can be. Described as sweet, quiet, and absolutely adorable, she enjoyed walks, playtime, and affection. Her curious side began to shine, and although she was initially unsure on the leash, she gained confidence with gentle encouragement and walked nicely as she became comfortable.
