Meet Diesel Train! This handsome 4-year-old boy is a healthy 49 lbs and runs more on good smells and your affection than on diesel, but he is attentive and responds to just about anything you call him! He can be a little nervous as he takes in his new surroundings, but his very sweet nature is already shining through.
If you meet Diesel Train in his kennel at BARCS, you may witness him pawing at the door, hoping you'll get him out of there, and who can blame him? This young explorer would much rather be chugging through the world or at least close to people! Diesel Train has been so grateful for pets and scratches whenever he can get them, but really hopes someone will come break him out of that kennel for good very soon!
When he's walking on leash outside, he enjoys carefully sniffing and is overall easy to handle, though he may catch a scent he really needs to follow every now and then, and he may insist on showing you exactly where it goes. If you stop and sit on a bench, there's a good chance Diesel Train will wiggle right up to you for pets.
Thus far at the shelter, he has seemed housebroken, having a clean kennel in the morning even after long nights inside. While he may have been reluctant to reenter his kennel in his first few days at BARCS (again, who can blame him?), he has more recently walked himself right in and patiently waited to be unleashed, showing that he can pick up on a routine, even when it's not his favorite.
Diesel Train will need to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match. He is eligible to come back to BARCS for social sessions.
Come down to BARCS and meet Diesel Train!
