Meet Mr. Baby, a handsome 1-year-old, 48-pound pup with a soft soul, a joyful personality, and a whole lot of love to give!
When Mr. Baby arrived at the shelter, the loud kennel rooms were understandably overwhelming for him. Once given a break from the noise, however, he relaxed and began showing everyone what a sweet, playful boy he truly is. He was promoted to full-time "office dog" and proved to be an absolute dream coworker. Now, he's continuing to show off his wonderful personality in a foster home!
Mr. Baby is a well-mannered houseguest who has been perfect with housetraining and does beautifully in his crate. He settles in nicely when left alone, giving his humans peace of mind while they're away. He enjoys having his own cozy spot to relax and is happy to spend plenty of time napping between adventures. He's not an over-the-top, nonstop-energy kind of guy; a couple of walks throughout the day and some interactive play are just right for him.
When it's time for fun, Mr. Baby is all about his favorite toys! He loves chasing and chewing on squeaky rubber balls, playing tug-of-war with his rope toys, and heading out for walks. He's also enjoyed hiking on quiet trails and playing fetch in a fully enclosed hockey rink, where he can stretch his legs and have a blast. He's a big fan of pup cups, too, and has done wonderfully on trips through the Starbucks drive-through. Car rides may take a little getting used to, but he's been a good sport about joining his foster on adventures.
Mr. Baby is a smart boy who already knows "sit" and has responded wonderfully to a little loose-leash training. He often walks right beside his person without even being asked, and when he does pull, it's generally mild. He's also very food motivated, making treats a great way to reward his progress and keep learning fun. This clever guy has even demonstrated impressive self-control around tempting food left within reach!
Mr. Baby is affectionate and loves spending time with his people. He keeps an eye on his favorite humans during outdoor adventures and checks in regularly, as if making sure everyone is still together. He has also done very well meeting the strangers he's encountered in his foster home and outdoors, greeting them politely and comfortably. He's a sweet companion who enjoys being included in everyday life just as much as he enjoys playtime.
One area where Mr. Baby needs some extra support is when encountering other dogs and small animals on walks. He can be reactive towards dogs and smaller animals, and occasionally to certain people he sees while out and about. His foster has been exploring quiet trails where they can enjoy time together without running into other dogs. He has peacefully coexisted with other pups in the shelter play yard and prefers calm, gentle canine companions. Any potential doggie roommates should meet him to ensure they're a good match, and his future family should be prepared to give him space and guidance on walks.
Smart, playful, loyal, and wonderfully well-mannered, Mr. Baby has so many qualities that make him a fantastic companion. He's happiest with a comfortable routine, daily walks, fun toys, and people who appreciate both his playful side and his talent for relaxing.
