Introducing Miley! Miley is a polite girl who will sit with her paws crossed while she waits for pets or treats. In the morning, she will meow for her breakfast and is learning how to sit for her food. She is a sweet girl who enjoys playing fetch with her mouse toy. Her default is to hang out in her bed or with her mouse toy under her chair, although we have noticed she's been spending more time on a couch in a quiet space. She doesn't mind getting head scratches and will headbutt you when she is ready for more attention. Loud noises (like dog barking) will cause her to pause, but she has been brave and doesn't let it scare her too much. In addition to her mouse toy, she enjoys playing with the ribbon toy. At 7 years old and 15 lbs, Miley has good litter box habits and eats both wet and dry food.
She has started to meet the other pets (a 7-year-old female cat and a large dog). She hasn't interacted much with the dog, but in initial interactions, Miley was a bit fearful and ran away. Miley prefers to keep her distance from the dog. Miley will keep her distance from the resident cat. She is very polite with her interactions and will back away if the resident cat thinks she's getting too close. Miley has let the other cat sniff her, but the interaction ended when the other cat ran away. Miley might do well with another cat, but a slow introduction is a must to ensure both cats feel comfortable around each other!
MVP Up to Bat! I'm a BARCS MVP because I'm a sweet girl who's come a long way on my weight loss journey! Please contact our Cat Foster team at catfosters@barcs.org to connect with my foster family, and get to know me better! I can't wait to meet you.
Every animal deserves a home run! BARCS MVPs are overlooked pets in the shelter. Thanks to the generous support of the Alonso, Basallo, and Bradish Baltimore Orioles families, all MVP animals have waived adoption fees AND will go home with a brand new leash and collar or cat carrier.
