Lyte is new here and we are still getting to know her. Her family reported that she loves playing with toys, and enjoys cuddling and getting pets. She is playful with other dogs and can be crated.
She attended an adoption event and showed everyone what a sweet, lovable girl she is! While she was a little hesitant getting into the car at first, she allowed herself to be helped in easily and quickly settled into the back seat, happily watching the world go by out the window during the drive. At the event, Lyte truly blossomed. She did INCREDIBLE meeting new people and happily soaked up attention from everyone who stopped by to say hello. She especially loved gentle pets and quickly showed just how affectionate she can be. Lyte is also very food motivated, which will make continued training and confidence building fun and rewarding for her future family.
When the event became a little overwhelming, Lyte did a wonderful job settling once given a quieter space away from the crowd and other dogs. She relaxed comfortably on the floor while visitors continued to come over and admire her, showing that she can adapt well with a little support and reassurance.
After all the excitement, Lyte curled up for a peaceful nap on the drive home - proof that underneath it all is a calm girl who enjoys simply being close to her people.
Lyte is looking for a family that will continue helping her build confidence while giving her the love, patience, and comfort she deserves. She has already shown how much she wants to connect with people, and with a little time, she is sure to become an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
Lyte has met other dogs at the shelter, she does best with gentle and polite friends.
Lyte is currently in the comfort of a foster home. If you're interested in meeting her, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps!
