Stewie is a handsome, sweet, and deeply affectionate boy around 2.5 years old, weighing about 52 pounds. He can be a little shy at first, especially in new or busy environments, but with patience, kindness, and a calm approach, his wonderful personality really shines. Once he feels safe, Stewie blossoms into a loving and loyal companion who is happiest curled up close for snuggles.
In his foster home, Stewie has done wonderfully with the resident dog and seems to really enjoy having a canine friend around. He relaxes more easily with another dog nearby and happily spends time lounging or exploring the yard together. His foster notes that he tends to be more confident on walks and in new situations when he has a dog buddy with him.
Stewie is making great progress with housetraining as he settles into a routine in his foster home. While he occasionally gets up during the night, he has been improving steadily and is doing much better overall. He is comfortable being left alone and typically relaxes on the couch while his people are away.
When meeting new people, Stewie may be a little timid at first, especially outside the home, but he warms up nicely with a little time and patience. Inside the house, once he's had a moment to take things in, he settles in and behaves comfortably around visitors. He does best with gentle introductions and a calm environment that allows him to build confidence at his own pace.
On walks, Stewie enjoys getting outside but can sometimes try to head back toward home before the walk is finished. He's also hesitant about passing unfamiliar people while out unless he has another dog with him for reassurance. With continued practice and positive experiences, he's continuing to build confidence and improve his leash skills. Stewie has met other dogs and he is a social boy! He enjoys playing chase.
At home, Stewie has a lower energy level and is happiest relaxing near his people. One of his favorite activities is lounging on the porch and soaking up the sunshine. He loves being close to his humans and happily accepts affection, making him a wonderful cuddle companion.
Stewie already knows "sit" and "come," and he's a loving, gentle boy who wants to connect with his people. With a patient adopter who will continue helping him build confidence, Stewie has all the makings of an incredibly devoted companion.
