Meet Jimmy Kibble - a joyful, affectionate boy who is absolutely convinced he's a lap dog.
Jimmy is thriving in his foster home and settling beautifully into his routine. He's fully house-trained with no accidents and handles alone time like a pro. After his morning walk, he happily heads upstairs to lounge on the bed and relax until his people return home. When they do, get ready for the full Jimmy welcome: excited wiggles, tail wags, and often a toy proudly presented as his greeting.
Jimmy walks nicely on leash and continues to make great progress each week. He's learning to ignore distractions with cues like "leave it," and while an occasional big noise might make him pause for a moment, he quickly regains his composure and keeps moving. He loves getting outside for walks and especially enjoys spending time soaking up the sunshine.
With medium energy, Jimmy has found a great balance between playful and relaxed. He enjoys running around the yard, enthusiastically shaking his plush toys, and then settling down to relax. One of his favorite activities is simply lounging outside, watching the world go by. His foster says he'll peacefully observe birds and bunnies in the yard or keep an eye on neighbors walking by like a proud little neighborhood watch captain.
Jimmy is also a smart and eager learner who enjoys training time. He offers an automatic sit, has gotten very good at "down," and will sit and wait politely until released for his food. His foster family has been helping him channel his playful energy into toys, and he's doing great with toy redirection when he gets excited.
When meeting new people, Jimmy's happiness can sometimes overflow - he greets with adorable full-body wiggles and may jump a little in excitement. It's all part of his enthusiastic personality, and with continued guidance he's continuing to improve. Because of this, he may do best in a home without very young children.
Jimmy has met other dogs at BARCS and prefers gentle playmates. It may be helpful for him to meet any resident dogs to ensure they are a good match.
Overall, Jimmy is a loving, goofy, loyal companion who is ready to bring a lot of personality and joy to his forever home. If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh, join you for adventures, and then curl up on your lap at the end of the day, Jimmy Kibble might just be your guy.
