Meet Lickety Split (Nala)! Despite her speedy name, Nala is all about soft snuggles, sweet strolls, and soaking up affection from anyone lucky enough to meet her. This two-year-old sweetheart has truly blossomed in her foster home, where her gentle, loving nature shines through every day. She's the type of dog who forms deep bonds with her people and loves being near them, whether she's leaning in for pets, curling up on the couch, or quietly snoozing at your feet. She's friendly, affectionate, and wonderfully easygoing, making her a joy to have in the home.
Nala is fully housetrained and hasn't had a single accident in her foster home. She thrives on routine and settles beautifully into the household rhythm. When left alone, she's been great-she's spent time both in her crate and out of it, doing well with either option. While she may fuss just a bit at first when crated, she always settles in, and she definitely prefers relaxing out in the home when given the choice. She's respectful, calm, and trustworthy when left out, making her an ideal companion for someone who wants a dog who can handle alone time gracefully.
One of the highlights of Nala's foster experience has been her bond with Sulley, the resident dog. The two have become inseparable best friends, spending their days playing, wrestling, sharing toys, and keeping each other entertained from morning to night. Nala is incredibly playful and social with other friendly dogs, and she would do wonderfully in a home with a canine companion who enjoys play. That said, she also loves her people deeply and would be equally happy as the center of attention in a one-dog home-as long as she gets plenty of love and interaction.
On leash, Nala is a dream. She doesn't pull, stays nicely by your side, and loves greeting neighbors with tail wags and a friendly spirit. She enjoys saying hello to people but remains calm and controlled, never pulling hard to reach anyone. This week, she even practiced "stay" before crossing the street and picked it up quickly-she's a smart girl who enjoys learning. Her friendliness extends to everyone she meets, including men, women, kids, and strangers. She even had a big moment in the spotlight on WJZ News, where she met tons of new people and absolutely impressed everyone with her patient, sweet personality.
Nala is a playful girl who adores toys of all kinds-chew toys, plushies, anything fun she can toss or gnaw on. She and Sulley play constantly, but she's equally content to settle down afterward for a snuggle session or a cozy nap. She has a lovely balance of energy: enthusiastic and silly during playtime, calm and cuddly during downtime. She loves heading out for walks, exploring new places like Petco, and just spending quality time with the people she loves. Her foster describes her as "an amazing girl all around," and that couldn't be more true-she's the perfect mix of fun, affection, and devotion.
Nala has an ear surgery scheduled for December 2nd, and once she's fully healed, she'll be ready for her forever home. She's healthy, happy, and so eager to share her love with the right family. With her sweet personality, great manners, dog-friendly nature, and irresistible charm, she's the kind of dog who fits easily into so many types of homes.
