Peanut recently enjoyed an overnight stay with a volunteer, and he showed just what a gentle soul he is! He is housebroken, slept peacefully through the night, and stood by the door when he needed to go outside. In the house, even with the option to roam or hang out on the couch, he chose to stay in one comfortable spot where he felt safe. He also did well in the car.
At 3 years old and 40 pounds, Peanut is one of our more timid, shy pups, so everything was done at his own pace. Despite his shyness, he loves walks - when his leash comes out and the door opens, his tail starts wagging wildly! He does pull a little at first, but only because he's so excited to sniff and explore. Peanut is a quiet boy - he didn't bark at all during his stay. He wasn't reactive to other people, dogs, squirrels, or birds; he was simply happy to do his own thing. On top of all those good qualities, Peanut's former family reported that he is good with children and other animals.
Peanut has met other dog pals at BARCS, and he prefers gentle dog pals. He would like to meet any doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.
