Meet Smiley! This 8-month-old sweetheart is as cheerful as they come, always eager to greet you with her signature grin and a heart full of joy. True to her name, Smiley radiates positivity wherever she goes. Whether she's zipping around with zoomies, curling up next to you on the tiniest sliver of couch space, or rubbing up against your legs like a cat to ask for pets, she brings a contagious warmth and silliness to every room she enters.

Smiley is playful, curious, and deeply people-oriented. She recently joined her foster for a field day picnic, where she relaxed in the grass, ran around in bursts, and enjoyed some sniff time. When the weather is right, she loves to play fetch and explore the world nose-first. She also recently showed off her good-girl manners on a trip to PetSmart, where she greeted strangers with calm curiosity and nailed her "sit" for treats. While still learning not to jump on new friends, she's eager to please and responds well to praise and direction-especially if there's a snack involved!

Training is going great for this smart cookie. Smiley has already mastered "sit" and is working on "stay," "come," and her newest trick: "go home." When you say it near the end of a walk, she knows exactly where she lives and runs up the steps to wait at the door. She's also learning to walk off-leash in low-distraction areas and has good recall-though she may get a little too excited if she spots someone she really likes and needs help redirecting. She's young, enthusiastic, and wants to connect with everyone she meets.

At home, Smiley is affectionate and cuddly, with bursts of playful puppy energy followed by long naps and snuggle sessions. She's still working on house training and does best with a consistent routine. Crate training is a new goal for her foster, especially as Smiley works through some separation anxiety. When left alone, she can get distressed-whining and occasionally tearing up items like pee pads, blinds, or curtains if she can't access her person. She currently has her own safe room and does best when given minimal items and plenty of reassurance. Her foster is hopeful that introducing a crate will help provide her with comfort and structure.

Smiley is incredibly photogenic (she's totally fine with outfits and hats!) and has a few puppy quirks that make her all the more lovable-from her enthusiastic tail wags and cuddly lean-ins to her sneezy sniff sessions and occasional silly-sounding toots. She hasn't lived with other pets or children in her current foster home, but she's shown friendly interest in other dogs at the shelter and on walks. We think she'd do well with slow introductions and positive reinforcement in a social setting.

Smiley would thrive in a home that can offer affection, patience, and guidance as she continues to grow. She doesn't need long hikes or all-day activities-just a few walks, some outdoor playtime, and plenty of love will make this girl's tail wag. A fenced yard would be a bonus so she can get her zoomies out safely, but more than anything, she just wants to be close to her people.

Smiley is currently in a foster home, learning the ropes of family life and getting lots of practice at being a very good girl. If you're ready to add some wiggles, zoomies, and unconditional love to your life, Smiley would be thrilled to meet you.
