Treebeard is a sweetheart with soft fur, a soulful face, and a distinctive patch over one eye that gives him a look as unique as his personality. He is currently spending some time in a foster home, and in just a few days, he showed incredible growth.

In his foster home, Treebeard proved to be a gentle, low-maintenance companion. He appears to be housebroken and crate trained, and he never bothered any belongings when left alone outside of the crate. He has a flexible wake-up routine, is easy to walk on leash, and happily accepted a bath, revealing his super-soft coat. Most of all, Treebeard loves being near his people. He enjoys snuggling up and resting close by but is also content to rest in his crate when needed.

Treebeard is still overcoming some fears and startles at sudden movements or loud noises, but he's quick to warm up with gentle reassurance. His foster family shared that he's already made great strides in just a few days, and they're heartbroken at the thought of returning him to the shelter. He simply needs a calm, structured home to continue feeling safe and loved.

At the shelter, Treebeard also spent time in a staff member's office, where he proved himself to be the perfect office dog. He quietly kept a BARCS staff member company all day, sometimes even climbing onto the desk to lay beside her while she worked. He was well-mannered, affectionate, and comforting-clearly happiest when he could be close to someone he trusted.

Treebeard knows how to sit, loves soft voices and treats, and walks beautifully on leash. He's met other dogs at the shelter and seems to do well with gentle, socially-savvy female dogs. He would need to meet any potential canine roommates to ensure a good match.

This sweet, sensitive boy is looking for someone who will give him the time and space to feel secure. In return, he'll offer quiet companionship, affection, and a heart full of love. If you're able to foster or adopt Treebeard, you'll be giving a special dog the chance he so deserves.
