Meet Firefly - a friendly, happy 67-pound sweetheart with a glowing personality to match her name! This smart girl already knows "sit" and "paw," and is working on "down." Her eagerness to learn (especially for treats!) makes her a joy to work with. Firefly enjoys her walks and especially loves plenty of time to sniff and explore. She might hop atop the agility platforms and survey the grounds like a queen on her throne. She's curious but very manageable-easily redirected when something catches her eye. In fact, Firefly is so sweet and easy to handle that she's often used as an example dog for training new volunteers!
Firefly recently enjoyed a Dog's Day Out adventure, starting with a long walk through Fells Point and ending with the best part-snuggle time at home. She quickly made herself comfortable, following her humans around the house like the loyal little shadow she is.
Described as affectionate, sweet, and full of fun, Firefly walked beautifully on leash, showed off her basic commands, and had a blast playing fetch and tug-of-war. She has great manners, making her a joy to have both inside and outside the home. And of course, she loved her pup cup treat!
Firefly is the perfect mix of active and cuddly. Whether she's out exploring or curled up beside you, she's just happy to be close. She's a sweet, loyal companion looking for someone to love-and who doesn't mind a little tug-of-war now and then.
Firefly had a fabulous weekend slumber party with a volunteer, and she proved to be the total package! This sweetheart is fully housebroken and settled into home life like a pro. She loved spending time with her people-cuddling on the couch, hanging around the house, and giving out kisses like candy. She also had a blast playing with tug toys and even played fetch with them. Her excellent manners really stood out-no counter surfing, no begging at mealtime, no jumping, and always polite. She listens well and wants to please. Firefly also had calm, polite interactions with the resident dog through a gate-no barking, just quiet curiosity.
Firefly has met other dog pals at BARCS, and she does best with polite & gentle dog pals. She coexists peacefully with her friends.
