Meet Wendy, a gentle and affectionate young pup who's been winning hearts in her foster home with her calm presence, intelligence, and loving nature. She came to BARCS as a lost dog, but you'd never know she'd had a rough start-Wendy has seamlessly adapted to family life and is wonderfully patient, sweet, and always eager to be near her people.
Wendy thrives on being part of the action. Whether she's lounging on the couch, following her humans from room to room, or joining the kids outside in the yard, she wants to be wherever her family is. One of her favorite activities is playing fetch-especially when the kids toss balls onto the trampoline! Wendy bounces them from underneath and retrieves them like a pro. She's so smart and so much fun to watch in action.
She's also picking up great house manners! Wendy practices "sit" while her food is prepared and waits patiently for the "eat" command before diving in. She's fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is incredibly respectful-she doesn't mind if you touch her face or reach near her food.
Wendy is especially gentle with children and has a heartwarming ability to earn the trust of even the most hesitant little ones. She's incredibly affectionate and often curls up on her foster grandma's lap-though she never misses a beat if someone new walks by or the doorbell rings. She hops up to alert the family, then quickly returns to her cuddle spot, ready for more love.
With her mellow energy, Wendy enjoys short walks, playtime with toys or sticks, and then long stretches of relaxation. Bedtime isn't her favorite (she'd much rather keep hanging out), but she settles peacefully and sleeps through the night.
While she enjoys people of all ages and doesn't mind the noise and bustle of a busy home, Wendy prefers to be the only dog in the household. She's currently gaining weight with help from her foster family, so her forever home will need to help her stay on track with balanced meals and light activity.
