Meet Stormy, a gentle and sweet 42-pound girl who came to BARCS through no fault of her own. Her previous family described her as being good with children and other animals-they also noted she's a total sweetheart. While Stormy can be a little nervous in the shelter environment, once she's outside she begins to shine. She loves a good walk and keeps her nose to the ground, fully engaged in the world around her. Sit down with her and she'll gently sidle up beside you for pets, content to relax and take in the sights with her person.
Stormy is very treat-motivated, which makes it fun and easy to work on training. She already appears to be housebroken at the shelter. She recently joined a pack walk with other dogs and people and did wonderfully-friendly, sweet, and full of energy. She may pull a bit on leash here and there, but overall she walks quite nicely, especially when she's got lots of sniffing to do (which might just be her favorite thing).
Stormy recently had the best little getaway in a temporary foster home, and she absolutely shined! This sweet girl proved to be the perfect mix of snuggly and playful. She was an angel in the house-completely housetrained with zero accidents, and she quickly settled into a cozy routine. Stormy was perfectly content lounging on the couch, being a lazy cuddlebug. She also showed her playful side, especially with stuffed toys. She's very food motivated, which made teaching her "sit" both fun and rewarding. She's smart and eager to learn, and with a patient, loving owner, she'll blossom even more. Stormy walks beautifully on leash and barely pays attention to other dogs. Her calm, polite walking style made her a joy to take on a long stroll through Fort McHenry, where she enjoyed soaking up the sights and smells.
Stormy prefers gentle and polite dog pals, and she requests to meet any potential siblings to ensure they are a good match.
This little ray of sunshine has so much love to give. Whether it's relaxing on the couch or exploring outdoors, Stormy is just happy to be near her person.
