Macarena (also affectionately called Ron or Ronnie by his foster) is a sweet and goofy three-year-old pup who's ready to find his forever home! He came to BARCS through no fault of his own, and his foster family can't say enough good things about him. This lovable guy is the perfect mix of active companion and loyal cuddle buddy. Whether you're heading out for a walk or winding down for the night, Macarena is happiest when he's near his people.

At home, Macarena is an easygoing house guest. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and doesn't get into things he shouldn't. He knows his basic commands like "sit," "lay down," and "come," and he's been working hard on new ones like "drop" and "look at me." He's intelligent, food-motivated, and eager to please-making him a joy to train. His foster reports that in just a couple of weeks, he's become more affectionate and cuddly by the day.

Macarena has a playful streak and loves interactive games like tug-of-war and fetch. Rope toys and rubber balls are his favorites, and he'll happily keep the games going as long as you're up for it. Once he's had his fun, he settles down for long naps and will lounge contentedly near you for hours. A few play sessions and some good walks during the day are usually all he needs to be a happy, tired pup.

He does best with a consistent routine and regular engagement. While he can settle in a crate, being crated for long periods makes him a little restless-so a home where someone is around for part of the day or can break up his alone time would be ideal. When he gets the exercise and structure he needs, Macarena is calm, affectionate, and very well-mannered in the house.

Macarena has met other dogs at the shelter and can be a bit pushy when playing, so if you have a resident dog, a meet-and-greet is important. He may do best with confident, playful dogs who can match his energy. On walks, he's still working on staying calm around other dogs and joggers, but he's responding beautifully to training-especially when treats are involved! His foster has been reinforcing the "look at me" cue to help redirect his attention, and Macarena is catching on quickly.

If you're looking for a playful, affectionate, and smart dog who'll be your workout partner, nap buddy, and biggest fan, Macarena might be your guy. He's full of personality and love, and he's ready to be someone's loyal companion for life. Interested in meeting Macarena?
