Mocha has been settling into her foster home and is showing what a sweet, smart, and silly girl she truly is. At about 2 years old, she has more of a puppy-like personality than one might expect-full of playful energy and curious exploration.
She is a solid sleeper with bursts of goofy energy and is still learning what is and isn't a toy (she once tried to eat a flip-flop right off her foster's foot!). Fortunately, she is easily redirected and eager to please. Mocha enjoys toys, sticks, Benebones, and ice cubes, and will often play independently when given the space.
Her potty training is still a work in progress. She had a few accidents early on but has recently had several accident-free days in a row. Mocha is crate-trained and settles easily, even when her foster is home and moving around. She has been a quiet guest so far, with no excessive barking.
Mocha already knows "sit" and comes when called, though she rarely wanders far. She is food-motivated and takes treats gently. She's also easy to handle, tolerates baths well, and is good on the leash-though she doesn't particularly enjoy long walks. She is very social with people both at home and on walks. She's met children and done well, has shown no reactivity to other dogs while out, and doesn't appear to have a prey drive toward small animals.
Mocha is incredibly smart and affectionate and is learning quickly. Her favorite activity these days is curling up on the couch for a good cuddle. She's making great strides and, with continued consistency and love, she's going to make a wonderful companion for a lucky adopter!
Mocha has met other dogs at the shelter, she is a social gentle girl!
