At 7 years old, Ferris has perfected the art of being adorable. He's housebroken, walks nicely on the leash, and knows how to "sit"-especially if there's a treat involved. Ferris might be a little nervous at first, but crouching down and offering snacks is the key to winning his heart.
Once he gets going, Ferris enjoys his walks and does great on the trails. He's not much of a puller, though he occasionally has opinions about which way to go. A little encouragement helps him refocus. Ferris enjoys calm moments, especially if there's a bench involved and someone to give him gentle pets. He warms up quickly with a little patience and kindness. This sweet smoosh is looking for a soft place to land and a family that will give him the love and time he needs to blossom.
Ferris is currently enjoying some time in a short-term foster home, and his foster family already has nothing but love for this adorable guy.
His foster family commented, "we broke Ferris out of BARCS for a temporary foster and we are already loving the sweet little hunk of joy! He was pretty reserved and timid when we met him at the shelter, and he was nervous in the car, but once we got home, he started to come out of his shell. He is such a love bug!"
Ferris settled in beautifully-he was perfect during a bath, seems to be housetrained, and after a long and exhausting day, he even tucked himself in for the night. He may be on the smaller side, but Ferris is already proving to be a polite and easy house guest. His favorite activities are naps and cuddles, what more could you ask for?! His favorite snack in his foster home is peanut butter!
With a little patience and a lot of love, Ferris is sure to blossom even more in a forever home.
Ferris has met other dogs at the shelter, he is a gentle boy. He did well with small dogs and would like to meet any doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.
