Thelma is the perfect mix of gentle soul and playful spirit. This 3-year-old, 60-pound sweetheart came to BARCS in early June through no fault of her own. When she first arrived, she was shy and unsure of her new surroundings-but with a little time, patience, and love, Thelma has truly blossomed.
Now, she lives for her walks. Sometimes she gets so excited to explore that she pulls ahead a bit, but she quickly settles into a nice rhythm, sniffing along the trails and occasionally checking in with her person. She's also calm and composed when passing other dogs on walks. Thelma is also a smart cookie. She knows "sit" like a pro, seems to be housetrained at the shelter, and is motivated by treats-making future training a breeze. Add to all of that a seriously adorable face, and you've got a pup who's impossible not to love. When you sit on a bench, Thelma comes right to you, so happy to put her head into your lap and loving the pets and affection.
Thelma has shown she can coexist peacefully with other pups and even enjoy their company by showing off her zoomies.
Not too young, not too big, Thelma is just right-and since she's already altered, she can go home with you today.
