Birdie is a sweet and soulful 2-year-old pup who has quickly settled into the rhythms of home life in her foster care. Weighing in at a perfect 42 pounds, she's just the right size for couch cuddles-and she'll happily take you up on the offer. Her foster says she's a certified snuggle bug who always wants to be close, often trailing behind to find the perfect moment to curl up beside you while you read, relax, or watch TV.

Birdie starts her days with a joyful burst of energy and enthusiasm. When her foster greets her in the morning, Birdie can hardly contain her excitement and will let out a happy little pee in the crate-just a sign of how thrilled she is to see her person again. A walk around the block and some one-on-one affection help her settle into the rest of the day with a calm, happy energy that makes her a breeze to care for.

Though a little shy around new people at first, Birdie opens up quickly. With just a few minutes of quiet encouragement, she'll approach gently and soak up all the affection you're willing to give. Once she trusts you, she becomes your biggest fan-full of sweetness, tail wags, and soft kisses. Her foster's favorite moments are the spontaneous love breaks during walks, when Birdie will climb onto a bench just to lean in for scritches and melt into your hands.

At home, Birdie is fully crate trained and clearly finds comfort in her little den. She'll often take her favorite stuffed pig toy and carry it into her crate at bedtime-an endearing little routine that shows just how much she's made herself at home. She also seems to be mostly housebroken, aside from her early-morning excitement, and is improving every day with consistency and routine.

Birdie walks beautifully on a leash, often checking in with her person and sticking close. She's still building confidence when passing other dogs and may pull slightly, but she redirects easily and continues to make great progress. Her reactions to other animals are mostly curious and calm, and she has been polite during brief, controlled meetings with both children and dogs. We recommend slow, thoughtful introductions to any new pets just to be sure everyone gets along well.

Birdie's ideal home would be one that offers her both structure and softness-a calm environment with people who understand that a little patience at first leads to a lifelong friendship. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who's happiest curled up by your side, Birdie just might be the perfect match.
