Mason is an 8-year-old gentleman with a heart full of love and a calm, cuddly spirit. Surrendered to BARCS through no fault of his own, this sweet senior is now living his best life in a foster home, where he continues to prove that older dogs make some of the very best companions.
Affectionately called "Mace" by his foster, Mason is the ultimate Velcro dog. He loves to be close-whether you're working from home, relaxing on the couch, or reading a book, he'll be right there at your feet or quietly asking for some affection. He doesn't ask for much: just your company, a few head scratches, and a cozy spot to stretch out (he's not picky-blankets or hardwood floors will do just fine).
Mason enjoys life's simple pleasures: short strolls, slow-paced car rides, and now, sticking his head out the window to feel the breeze on his face. He's also become a bit of a neighborhood watch dog-he loves looking out the window to see what's going on outside. While he hasn't picked up any new tricks lately, he continues to be a well-mannered, easygoing housemate. He's fully house-trained and crate-trained for when you're away, although he'd be happiest hanging out with you as much as possible.
He walks well on leash, though he may pull a little when another dog catches his attention. He hasn't had a chance to make any pup friends yet, but his foster is hopeful that with the right match and gentle introductions, he'll enjoy a canine buddy someday. (He's also welcome to attend social sessions at BARCS to help him get there!)
Mason is mellow, polite, and deeply affectionate-a loyal friend who would be a perfect match for someone looking for a low-key but loving companion. He's past the puppy chaos but still full of heart, personality, and those soulful eyes that seem to say "I'm yours."
