Licorice is a playful, happy-go-lucky, and handsome young guy. He is the sweetest and goofiest love bug. He is funny and energetic, but also loves his gentle cuddle time. He walks wonderfully on his leash, and is such a fun play buddy. He would bring so much fun and love into a home!
Licorice was recently in a short term foster home, and loved going on long walks in Patterson Park. He did well around other dogs on walks. He is great on leash, and practiced tricks like sit and lay down - he's a pro at sit. He keeps himself busy with chew toys. He has lots of energy for play and activities, but he has no problem settling down and relaxing on the couch if you aren't in the mood to play.
Licorice loves being around his people and prefers laying by your feet or cuddling with you! Licorice is an affectionate and loving boy. He likes nothing more than cuddling up with his best human friend. He also did well well with a 1 year old child - they were closely monitored, but he did not get overly excited and showed no concerning behavior. He did well in his crate when his people were at work. He worked on his house training during his stay, and got better with each day with only a few accidents. Most pups need a few days to get readjusted to house-training in a new environment. Overnight he was great! He slept in his crate for the first night, and after that he slept in the bedroom with no problems.
Licorice has enjoyed several dog's day out adventures! He was a little nervous getting in the car but once in it didn't take long for him to warm up. It was his first dog's day out! When he's excited he will jump up to greet you but will listen when he's told to sit, and then gently takes a treat. He did well on his walk, and was non reactive to people, other dogs or cyclists going by. He also enjoyed just sitting on a bench (or on you!) giving kisses & hugs and enjoying the attention. On his next adventure he enjoyed the shady wooded trails at Downs Park. His new friends made sure to stop at the Wishing Bench and Licorice wished for a furever home. He loved the car ride and is quite a cuddler. To cool off after the walk they stopped at The Human Bean Pasadena and he loved his pup cup! Licorice would be the perfect adventure buddy for someone active. He has lots of energy and wants to explore!
Licorice does best with gentle, polite playmates, and he requests to meet any doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.
