Meet Lucas the Spider. At 1 year and 8 months old, this 59 lb male Shepherd has already made incredible progress while spending time outside the shelter in a loving foster home as he recovered from surgery. He has built his confidence tremendously and has come a long way from being fearful of people coming and going. With patience and reassurance, he has learned that new people and everyday movement around him do not have to be scary.
He does well on leash and is beginning to show more curiosity about the world around him. He still seems most comfortable when he has a safe place to retreat to, but he continues to push himself to explore and experience new things. This sweet boy would do well with someone willing to give him the security, patience, and encouragement he needs to keep growing into the confident companion he is becoming.
