These cats are friendly, but are too unhappy living indoors to be good house pets. There are various reasons they would do better with an outdoor "job": They may be very independent and/or energetic cats which makes their house behavior unsuitable. They may have litter box issues that are behavioral in nature, rather than medical. They may have unpredictable moods and strike without warning. They may have a history of biting people. They may be so fearful in the shelter environment they aren't able to be placed in a traditional adoption program. Some become friendly again once they settle in at a residence.
All of our barn cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, treated for fleas, microchipped and ear-tipped before going to their new homes. Our goal is to get these cats into new barn homes as soon as possible.
The adoption fee is waived for our barn cats, but donations are appreciated.
