Meet Ronin:
Ronin is a very sweet approx. 2 yr old German Shepherd. He has opened up a lot since he was rescued on Jan 3rd from downtown Moncks Corner. It took him about a week to open up and seemed to be very under socialized to human attention. He is learning that humans are good and is now asking for pets and enjoying human affection, met a few other dogs, enjoyed some short walks outside, and is playing with toys. He hasn't shown any aggression in all of the new situations he has been in (handling, going into a crate, being put on a leash, etc) just seems nervous.
He will need a patient and kind owner while settling in but one that will also know when to be confident and structured based on his breed and age.
He hasn't had any potty accidents recently and will tell you when it's time for him to go out.
Unfortunately he does have to go through heartworm treatment soon and our house is a bit too busy for him to stay calm consistently. During the treatments he will have to be on very low activity, maybe even on crate rest for 1-2 months I believe. He is dog friendly and super playful but will need a calm setting for heartworm treatment once it starts.
He is vocal when left alone so I wouldn't recommend an apartment style setting. We are still working on him being comfortable in the crate for extended periods.
He has mostly ignored our cats and even got scared when they came up behind him haha.
Unsure about younger kids. I doubt he's ever been around them!
