Meet our lovely little Scout!
Scout is one of three Mountain Curs brought from Louisiana as part of a rescue mission headed by Bissell Pet Foundation. The mountain cur breed is known for its intelligence, trainability, and loyalty. They always aim to please their humans! Mountain curs are bred for work, so they are active dogs with energy to burn. Scout is certainly no exception, and will play, run, and explore to her heart's content. Mountain Curs can live, on average, up to 14-16 years, and there are no reported breed-specific health issues. Scout would likely do well in a home with another dog, as long as they'll play with her and put up with her puppy energy! She is very smart, loving, and eager to impress. While Scout is still a puppy and has accidents on occasion, she has been doing well with her house training. With a bit more direction and patience, she'll be potty trained in no time. CAHS requires puppy classes following adoptions of dogs under nine months. Scout doesn't mind going to school though! There are so many friends to meet and new things to learn. There are all kinds of things Scout wants to do and see. Do you think you could be the one to show her a happy home?
