If you've ever dreamed of sharing your hale with a cat who is equal parts sweetheart, adventurer, comedian, and tiny orange tornado, allow us to introduce you to Henry!
Henry is a handsome orange tabby just a little over a year old, and he has been waiting at the Kaua'i Humane Society since May 31st. After more than 100 days at the shelter, this special guy is officially a long-stay kitty, which means his adoption fee is sponsored for a local, on-island adoption.
And trust us-Henry is worth getting to know.
Our animal photographer fell head-over-heels for him during his photo session, describing Henry as SOOOO sweet and playful. He loves treats, attention, pets, and being close to his people. Give this boy some toys, a cardboard box, or even a paper towel roll, and he is ready to PARTY. Henry especially loves climbing into boxes and turning ordinary household items into his own personal playground.
But Henry isn't your typical couch-potato kitty.
This boy is an adventurer and hardcore player who likes to keep things exciting! His play style can be enthusiastic-and sometimes a little rough. Henry enjoys using his mouth and claws when he plays, so his ideal person will be comfortable with an energetic cat who needs plenty of appropriate outlets for that playful spirit. Think interactive toys, enrichment, patience, and a good sense of humor.
Henry also prefers to keep all four paws on the ground. Although he enjoys affection and can be incredibly loving, he does not enjoy being picked up and may bite if he feels restrained. His love language is much more along the lines of, Come sit with me, give me some pets, and let's have FUN!
Henry has also made it very clear that he would prefer to be the one and only feline in his home. We've tried pairing him with other cats, but Henry's enthusiastic play style was simply too much for his potential roommates. He would thrive as your solo superstar, where he can soak up all the attention and enrichment his heart desires.
So, who is Henry looking for?
Someone who wants a young, active, playful cat with a BIG personality. Someone who enjoys interactive play, understands feline boundaries, has a little "tough skin," and is ready to give Henry the attention and enrichment he craves.
