Hi, I'm Moose, a 68-pound Terrier and Rottweiler mix with a very gentle and tender heart. Right now, I'm pretty shy and reserved, especially around new people, and I can come across as independent or uninterested-but really, I'm just feeling scared and unsure. I don't always know how to receive affection yet, so I may seem a little awkward if you approach me for pets, and I won't usually seek them out on my own. I'm at my most comfortable outside, where I can relax, take in my surroundings, and feel safe just being near you without any pressure. I have an incredibly sweet disposition, and while it takes me time to trust, it's clear there's a lot of love waiting to bloom once I feel secure. I do have a playful, spunky side that peeks out when I'm chasing a tennis ball, and once I'm comfortable, I'm going to be an active girl who needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy. I can get overwhelmed easily by loud noises, fast movements, or too much commotion, so a calm, easygoing home without small children would be best for me. What I truly need is a patient, understanding family who will let me decompress and open up at my own pace, never forcing interactions and always respecting my boundaries. With time, consistency, and lots of gentle love, I know I'll blossom into a wonderful companion who's well-mannered, affectionate in my own way, and ready to reach my full potential by your side.
My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society.
All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
