I'm Luna, a 66-pound Terrier mix who's still trying to find her footing in this loud, busy shelter world. Right now, I'm a very independent girl who stays on edge because everything feels unfamiliar and a little scary. My true personality hasn't had the chance to shine yet, but I'm doing my best to be brave. I've been told that peanut butter is my absolute favorite, and offering me some is a great way to help me relax and start to trust. I do enjoy being loved on - I just haven't fully learned how to receive affection with confidence, so I need someone patient who understands that I open up slowly. I'll thrive in a calm, easygoing home where I won't be bombarded with too much too fast. When you first meet me, I might not show much interest, and that's okay - giving me space to approach you and getting down on my level helps me feel safe. Once I realize I don't have to worry, I begin to lean in a little more, and that sweet side I keep tucked away starts to show. With time, patience, and gentle understanding, I know I can build a strong bond and become a loyal, loving companion for someone willing to walk at my pace.
My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society.
All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
