Hey there, I'm Louie - a big, handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with a whole lot of personality packed into my sleek, athletic frame! I weigh enough to remind you I'm around when I lean in for attention, but I'm really more of an independent guy. I like doing my own thing - whether that's sniffing out every corner of the yard, chasing after interesting scents, or just feeling the breeze while I explore. I'm smart and know how to sit for treats (those are my favorite!), but I can be a little stubborn sometimes, especially if I think my way is better. I'd prefer a home without small kids, but I'd probably do great with respectful teenagers and adults who understand my signals. When I'm in play mode, though, I'm all goofball! I love to play tug, run around, and get hyped up - zoomies are kind of my thing. You'll see my silly side when I stand up on my hind legs for extra rubs and "lovins," even if I'm not the most cuddly guy just yet. I might not curl up in your lap, but once I feel safe and settled, I could surprise you with how affectionate I become. I've got energy for days and love to stay busy, so I'd be happiest with an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures as much as I do. My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society.
All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
