Woody Harrelson is a survivor. He was seen for months and months running around as a stray, eluding capture. A Good Samaritan would leave food for the strays in the area, and Woody was seen leading different dogs to the food. He was like the town mayor! Because he was so used to being on his own, he was difficult to catch. At one point, he was seen covered in blood, clearly attacked by another animal. Still, he eluded help. He finally took up residence under a house nearby and his foster mom was able to earn his trust enough to capture him. Because of her, he is alive and able to live the life he deserves... as a beloved pet.
Woody took some time to trust people. With patience and lots of yummy treats, he slowly let his guard down and started showing his true self - a loyal, loving, and silly companion. Woody loves love, playing, stretching his legs in the backyard, and enjoying the simple things. He is still nervous, so he will need a quieter environment where he can feel safe. He found comfort and safety in other dogs, so we are looking for a home for him with a confident canine pal to continue to learn from. Woody loves to play with his friends but also enjoy just being near them. Training is going well and he seems eager to please.
Woody loves his teddy bear, soft beds, belly rubs, and playing with a friend. He is an incredible dog who is always happy to see you - smiling his big smile and wagging his tail. He can match the energy in a room like a champ, and will be the perfect companion to the person willing to give him a chance to shine. Could that be you?
