Since arriving, Erford has been groomed, neutered, had multiple masses removed and is feeling so much better. One of the masses did come back as a mast cell tumor, and he's also missing all of his teeth. We suspect he's 12+ years old, has some hearing loss and cataracts clouding his eyes... but none of that stops him from wanting love.
What Erford needs now is not perfection. He needs kindness. Patience. Soft beds. Gentle hands. A quiet home where he can spend his golden years knowing he is safe.

A mast cell tumor (MCT) in dogs is a type of skin cancer that comes from mast cells - cells involved in allergic reactions and inflammation. They can look like almost anything on the skin: a small bump, a wart-looking lump, a soft fatty-feeling mass, or even something that changes size day to day. Some stay quiet for years, while others can act aggressively.
