FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING: SABLE'S INCREDIBLE JOURNEY
Sometimes, the pictures tell a story that words simply cannot.
On July 2nd 2025, Sable came to us after being brought in by the Sharon Police Department as a stray in desperate need of veterinary care. She was painfully thin, weighing just 42 pounds, and suffering from severe skin issues associated with untreated mange and allergies.
It's hard to look back at where she started and not feel heartbroken. No dog should ever have to reach that point before getting the help they need.
But today? Today, we get to share a little hope.
Sable is now up to 66 pounds and gaining! Her body is healing, her weight is increasing, and we are so proud of how far this sweet senior has come.
Her journey hasn't been an easy one. Sable has battled ongoing ear issues that required a visit to a dermatologist, and she needs a special diet, The Farmer's Dog, to help manage her tummy troubles. Her care takes time, patience, and continued commitment, but she is worth every bit of it.
And through it all, Sable remains a girl who loves people, dogs, and cats. She has so much love left to give, and we hope her next chapter will be filled with soft places to rest, full meals, gentle care, and a family who sees just how special she is.
Her recovery is a reminder of why speaking up matters. After our original post, people reached out with information about having seen Sable before. Thank you to everyone who helped. This matter is now in the hands of law enforcement.
And thank you to the Sharon Police Department for helping get Sable to safety and giving her the chance to begin this journey.
Sable's story isn't just about how much weight she has gained. It's about the second chance she deserved all along. ??
She still has healing ahead of her, but we will celebrate every pound gained, every step forward, and every little victory along the way.
Now, our biggest wish is for Sable to find a loving home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by the kindness, comfort, and unconditional love she deserves.
Please help us share Sable's story. Her happily-ever-after is still out there, and we would love nothing more than to help her find it.
Update for August 2025
July 2nd the Sharon Police Department dropped off a stray dog that was in need of vet care.
The vet found that she is suffering from severe allergies associated with mange that has been left untreated. This is something you treat from the inside with oral medication, and outside with bathing. She started out at 42lbs and is now up to 65lbs! We are so happy with her progress, but know she still has a long journey ahead of her.
This is something that could have been dealt with early on and wouldn't have gotten to this extreme.
Sable is on a special food
*From the post we had people reach out that had seen this dog before. Thank you for that help! This is now in the hands of law enforcement. This is a good lesson of - If you see something, say something.
Thank you to the Sharon Police Department for helping get her to safety!
Keep watch for more updates to come on her amazing journey!
