I'm a solid, strapping broad! You'll notice my muscular physique right away and hopefully, then you'll see my broad, happy grin! I've been pretty shy and withdrawn since my arrival. I did not know anyone here and I was overwhelmed. I've had a couple nice ladies who keep reaching for me and getting me out for walks and I'm feeling their love and feeling like I belong here....for now! They are slow and steady in their approach to me and I bask in their soft and very gentle body pets and strokes. I still startle easily but I'm getting into my new routine and part of that is slow, easy paced walks, chill time right by my new human friends and working on adding others to my friend circle. My ears (as you may have noticed) have been physically altered to make me look rough and tough, but truth be told, I'm the biggest baby and softie, you're apt to meet. You'll not find a rough and tough bone in my body and I have my paws crossed that if you're in the market for the sweetest of sweet girls cloaked in some meekness....for now... that you'll consider me. I appreciate your tuning into me, STELLA. Hope you'll ask to meet me soon!

Facebook Update Feb 7: A round of applause PLEASE for our bravest of girls, STELLA!   Stella is the new girl on the block...all muscular and buff...but the biggest softie at heart.  She'll welcome slow, steady hands and movements and reward you with her huge grin and the gentle wag of her tail.  Arriving very, very shy,  she's doing so much better and we totally adore her and admire how brave she's been.  Please check out Pretty Lady Stella and we think you might find your new and most favorite Valentine!

Facebook Update March 1: We LOVE our big, black velvet girl STELLA and are so proud of her. When we last chatted about her we were urging for someone to please help her....notice her. She was starting to decline at the shelter and was getting very ribby. She lucked out in bunking up with a Clemson Foster Mom and she's doing terrific!! She was super, super shy when she initially arrived at the shelter so to see her out and about and hanging nicely with a Clemson Co-ed is really terrific. Note: 3 yrs old; about 65lbs

Mini update from Stella's foster: She's really warmed up to me. Woke up several times last night from her snuggling closer to me! She also has done great with other dogs we've passed on walks and is such a great walker. We walked by the lake and she seemed confused by it. Perhaps she gave rise to the phrase, "I'm just testing the water."

One more update: We had a 3 hour play date yesterday and she was AMAZING. She listened so well and was awesome with the other dogs. I was so proud of her. I saw her run for the first time and her tail finally left in between her legs???? She's gone to the bathroom pretty regularly now and is absolutely perfect with no issues whatsoever.

Facebook Update March 4: Stellar STELLA continues to THRIVE in foster care. This sweetest of sweethearts was pretty downtrodden and frightened when she arrived at the shelter but she quickly settled into her foster home and is doing G-R-E-A-T!!

Her foster mom reports: Doing amazing! She got in the car all by herself today without me having to pick her up, and we took a trip to petco to grab her some treats and she was so social????

Seen here with a yummy doggie treat, she's now pulling together her doggy wish list and at the top of it is a new home! Can you help? Do you love black velvet dogs? Do you enjoy helping the underdog rise and shine to their fullest extent? If so, please connect with us and let's talk STELLA! Can you tell we are smitten with this gorgeous of most gorgeous dogs??
