Who says I don't kiss on the first date??  Well,  there's proof in the pudding of several volunteers who have found me to be lovey dovey on our first date.  I'll admit it's better to take it a little more slowly with me and let me check you out, but in no time, you'll see me relax,  my hips are going to start to wiggle and my tongue will give you smooches.   I hear folks say I'm the perfect size doggy- not too big and not too small at 42lbs.  I have a more compact frame, sport a mocha colored coat, white chest and muzzle blaze, white tipped feet and sparkly amber eyes.  Like most dogs,  I enjoy leash walks and I'm pretty easy to manage and guide along trails.   Toys don't do much for me and honestly,  my preference is to give YOU an amazing sit for a snack and or to simply chill and hang by your side.  Other pets may not be my cup of tea so if you are looking for a single, available female, I might be just what you are looking for!  Please ask for me, SASSY today.

Facebook Update Dec 18: Wouldn't you love to know what they are talking about?? Volunteer Trish always brings an extra touch of magic pet dust with her to help reassure and settle in some of our newer arrivals. SASSY was a little bit nervous when she first arrived but she's come along beautifully and Trish's patience yesterday morning during photo time was just what Sassy was looking for. Just 3 yrs old, Sassy is a more compact girl who's better by YOUR side. Give her a little time and space, and you too will discover her loving, sweet nature. No toys for her and likely no other pets either...so it could be just YOU and HER, together! Can you see it?

Facebook Update Dec 22: I'm getting into the holiday spirit. I'm grateful for the staff and volunteers who have helped settle me in to be my best pet self. Saturday was a fun day for me 'cause I was chosen to wear the coveted jester neckwear! I was secretly smiling inside - recall a smile is really a frown turned upside down!! LOL As a gesture of my new happy self, you should have seen me giving my dog walker friend plenty of wiggly hips when she reached for me in my kennel, I gave her lots of darting kisses as we paused while strolling around and then plenty of happy eye contact to let her know I was connecting with her. She said I was adorably sweet and kind and most lovable!

My name is SASSY and I'm a compact cutie (U see the image says so!! LOL) at 42lbs. Just 3 yrs old, I've got the pet job down pat and would love to get that select interview with you so I can be home for the holidays. Please consider me for your new best friend. Again, ask for SASSY!!

Facebook update Jan 10: Were you curious to learn more about SASSY?? This beautiful redhead has blossomed into a smiley, wiggly, mess of kisses and happiness under our care. In foster care, she has continue to grow and show her family even more of her pet awesomeness. As you click through the pics, you might be thinking, "Uh that's a couch potato if I've ever seen one," and while there is some truth to that as not just anyone can hold down a sofa, still she has lots of play and get up and go and loves to be involved in YOUR day. If Sassy, sounds like your type, please let us know! Note: Sassy is 3yrs old and 42lbs. Before further adieu, an incredible update from her foster after just 2 nights under their care:

We are working on house manners - she makes a good effort at counter surfing ??. Good thing she is smaller. Also working on potty training, a couple accidents (pee) but mainly because we didn't know her cues and she didn't know where to go to signal us.

She is very attentive and loves attention and wants your full attention. Good with other dogs, actually kind of ignores them. Hasn't barked at all. Working on crate training, she isn't thrilled with it because she doesn't want to be alone. But with a treat she will go in but there is whining while in there. Poor thing is afraid of the dark! Did not want to go outside in the dark until we brought our other dog with us along with a flashlight. And she gets cold so we are sure to use her sweater.

She is a sweetie though. Willing to learn and loves positive reinforcement as well as treats. No stuffed toy is safe with her - however we have Mika and Sammy bones for our German shepherd and she is enjoying those immensely and they are holding up to those pittie jaws! Loves tug and fetch.

Walks well on the leash. She has a lot of energy and is ready for fun in the house there is a bit of Parkour action going on the couches! She chews and plays on appropriate things ( has already figured out the basket of dog toys). No food or toy guarding at all!

Facebook Update Jan 20: Our lovely redhead SASSY is back from foster and hoping YOU will take her in as the cold comes back full force.  She did great in her pior foster home and her family tagged her "Small but mighty!"  It's a great observation as she packs a full punch of personality and get up and go.  She thrived in the home setting,  did well with housebreaking,  holding down the sofa,  gutting stuffed toys and also sharing her space with the resident dog.  Sassy's 3 yrs old, 40lbs and ready to find her new safe and permanent home.  Please let us know if you can help sweet Sassy!

Facebook Update Jan 29: For a good time call SASSY!! Our lovely red-head was spectacular in her week long storm foster but is now back on site and hoping to share her pet skills with YOU! Her foster described her as "small but mighty" and that's surely the truth!! Sassy is not one to sit on the sidelines so when you come and meet her in our play yard space, grab a rope toy, toss it and watch the fun begin!! Graced with a full bodied, robust personality and play style, if you're more on the sturdy side, Sassy is your kind of doggy! Full grown at 3 yrs and mid 40lbs range, Sassy is in perpetual smile and waggy tail mode and would love to meet you!! Come on out, won't you?

Facebook Update March 7: I heard a car was being loaded up to go off site to Tractor Supply Co.  I raised my paw super high, I got picked and boy, was I excited to be picked to go on an adventure!!  My name is SASSY and I've been waiting a long, long time for my happily-ever-after.  Being proactive in trying to find my new family,  I knew this field trip would be not only fun but show everyone how spectacular I am!

I'll tell you,  I was terrific in the car.  I waited nicely for it to be unlocked and in, I flew.  Literally!  I was so stocked and pleased to be in a car.  See that huge smile on my face in the album??  What joy!  The adventure continued in the store as Staff Member Connie was fast on her feet offering me snacks at the entrance for which I sat beautifully.  You see my nose in that drawer?  The snacks were inside!

Shopping around the store was a real treat for me as every aisle had different sights and smells and people!  I was a
