Yes, we know he's cute, but he is lacking in other areas that his looks make up for. Here's what you need to know - he is EXTREMELY flighty and will do everything in his power to get away from scary or overwhelming situations. He takes time, hours, days, weeks to trust you. We don't think he has been abused, but rather not socialized and due to him not seeing, hearing and smelling new things when he was younger he thinks all new things are out to get him.
In the right home this dog will succeed and make one of the absolute best dogs for a family, but in the wrong home he will easily fail. Our job at the shelter is to not set this dog up for failure and to place him into the best home possible. We are willing to work with any approved, potential adopters to make sure the fit is the best possible for Shadow and for his new human family as well.
Right now we think it's best for Shadow to not be in a home with any children.
Other dogs should schedule a meet and greet to see how they interact, but we can not get a true read on his dog and cat behaviors here at the shelter due to his extreme anxiety that the world is ending at any given moment.
