Banjo and his two companions, Millie and Maynard, arrived at our door with broken hearts. Their previous guardians moved away and left them behind! Locked out of their former abode, the trio waited for their family to return for almost a year. Thankfully, the neighborhood sprang into action and left food, water, and beds outside for the kitties. When Maynard was attacked (probably by a coyote), the neighbors decided the cats deserved a safer future. A few phone calls later, the crew joined Rescue House foster care. With hope renewed, Banjo is ready to move into his forever home!
Surviving the outdoors is no small feat, and our Banjo has a couple scratches and scuffs to prove it! (We can only imagine the hardships he had to overcome.) Foster care was the perfect place for him to heal his injuries and relax. Since saying goodbye to the street life, Banjo has gotten in touch with his super chill side. He happily traded in his boxing-mitts for a fuzzy bed. Easy to please, he cherishes the simple pleasures such as comfy pillows, lounging by the windowsill, and afternoon naps. Despite being on his own for so long, Banjo still believes the best of people. This sweet lad is in a heavenly bliss when he's curled up on top of your legs. As he meditates on your lap, you can feel his immense love and all the stress melt away from your body!
Having lived with two other cats, Banjo would likely be fine with other welcoming felines after proper introductions. His thoughts on dogs are unknown. After his stressful ordeal, Banjo prefers a calmer, quieter environment. As he can use his teeth to communicate, he'd likely vibe best with cat-savvy tweens and teens.
While healthy, Banjo has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat's immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness.
