How I Arrived At NHS: I am a transfer from Hero's Heart.
I am a super sweet guy that loves getting attention and being with people.
I love to be outside and run and play. I also like going on walks.
I can sit, stay, laydown and speak on command. As long as I get a treat.

Notes from NHS volunteer who recently took him on an outing: Vader is such a fun loving goofball! He somehow knew which car was ours and walked right up to it and sat like a perfect gentleman. He is a world class traveler and his favorite part of the ride was sticking his head out the window feeling the mist on his face. He's quite the free spirit. We laughed as we looked in the side mirrors and saw his jowls flying around. He's silly! He loved the walk we took at the park and was curious about everything--especially bunnies but didn't bark or try and chase. He also loved following our little guy around the climbing structure. Vader is also excellent on the leash and loves to sit on command. Vader also realized that he really likes fast food drive-throughs not because of the food but because he can get all kinds of attention through the window! He's very social and loves everyone. If you're looking for a laid back goofball that loves adventure and people, Vader is your guy!

Good With Kids: Possibly. Did well with children in home. We do recommend a slow introduction
Good With Cats: Unknown.
Good with Dogs: Possibly. Has done well with others dogs he has met. Didn't like pups under 6 months. We do recommend a slow introduction

All the dogs at Northwoods Humane Society have had a basic exam by NHS veterinary staff. They have been microchipped, tested for Heartworm (if over 6 months of age), had at least their first distemper combo vaccination (2nd if here longer), dewormed with a general dewormer, and had a flea and tick treatment applied if applicable. All the dogs will be spayed or neutered before they are adopted to their new permanent homes. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.
