Buster showed up at the home of a Good Samaritan wanting food and attention (which he got), and would come every day, often sporting wounds from fights with other cats in the area. The man felt like Buster was asking for help, especially when he would cry to come inside. He reached out to The Rescue House and Buster moved into foster care to heal up from his latest injuries, get neutered, and enjoy the comforts of home until his forever people find him.

Buster (named after boxer Buster Douglas) is a sweet and super chill guy. He is so happy to be living with people! He likes to play with his foster mom each night with his Da Bird flying wand toy, and he'll also kick around his Yeowww catnip banana. Buster is super cuddly, especially in the evening during TV time. You can put him on your lap, chest, or nestle him in the crook of your arm for cuddles and lots of purrs. He enjoys scratches around his chin and ears, and he also likes belly rubs! (He'll sometimes give you a little love bite because he's so happy.) He doesn't like the vacuum monster or landscaping noises and will hide under the bed during those times, but once things calm down he'll be back out to lounge on his bench. Buster is quite a talker and he'll chirp anytime he sees his foster parents and when he sees another cat. Now that he's been neutered and doesn't have to fight to survive, Buster is a friendly mellow guy.

Buster seems interested in other cats though is not overly curious or aggressive; he could likely live with a few others or be a solo kitty. We have not observed him around dogs or children.

Buster has gone through some hard-knock times, but his spirit is gentle and loving. Will you give him the chance to shine in your heart and home?

While healthy, Buster has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat's immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.
